Jorge Eduardo Benavides (Arequipa, Peru, 1964) has a degree in Law and Political Science and has written some of the most unique literary works of his generation, such as the books of short stories Cuentario and other stories and The Night of Morgana , as well as the novels The Useless Years, The Year I Broke With You, One Million Suns, The Peace Of The Vanquished (awarded the Julio Ramón Ribeyro Prize for short novel), and A Sentimental Affair. The Enigma Of The Convent, his most recent novel, has been granted by the XXV Torrente Ballester Prize for novel.
