José Enrique Campillo Álvarez (Cáceres, 1948) is a medical expert in nutrition and nutrition. He received his doctorate in Medicine from the University of Granada and has been Professor of Physiology at the University of Extremadura. He was awarded the National Research Prize in 1989. He is currently a professor of nutrition and dietetics at the University of the Greater Extremadura and collaborator of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). In recent years he has been interested in the so-called “Darwinian medicine”, focused on the study of the diseases of opulence. As a result of this study, he has published titles such as La hip de Eva,  The Obese Monkey, Eat Healthy To Live More and Better or his most recent work: The Stressed Monkey.
