José Luis Serrano (Granada, 1960 – ibid., 2006) was professor of Philosophy of Law and author of numerous monographs and articles in the fields of general theory of law and the state, environmental law and political ecology. He was also the author of the black novels Under the Shelter of the Gin (2000) and February Still (2001), as well as Brooklyn Babilonia (2009) and the historical novels Zawi (2006, 2013) and The Alhambra of Solomon (2013).
